The Myths of Channeling

So what does Maureen do?  Go into a trance? Are we talking beaded curtains and crystal balls here?

Transcript:

Behind the camera: “Then just in terms of the mechanics of our session like so we walk in there we go down to a darkly lit basement with lots of candles?”

Maureen:

No! (laughs and says sarcastically) -We part through the beaded curtains, and we have the crystal ball ,and I have to put on my special channelling hat. No, it's just the room, like this [room] in fact. If you want I could show you later. You just go in the room, I have a chair, you sit on the couch; there's a box of Kleenex because I don't know what it is but they seem to know how to get people emotional. I guess when they hit your root pieces, it's emotional. So Kleenex has to be there and it's just a normal conversation just like you and I are having. It's really no different, and when the guides come through me it's no different. Like this is the other thing people are afraid of, right? Ok I'm going to start to channel now *makes ohming sounds* thats what they expect right? Meanwhile you know, I could be channeling right now and you wouldn't know it; we're just talking. So usually, the expectation is that they do think that I'm going to have to let go into a trance; but I don't - I'm a conscious channel. I don't go into a trance. And you know what? I wouldn't be willing to do this work; a true trance is you don't know what's been said. I'm sorry, call me a control freak, but I would not be able to fully move out of the way to just let them say everything. And then to like wake up from asleep and go “Oh, is that good?” lol That's not me! And I've noticed when I researched channeling a little bit there are more conscious channels now. Like trance channeling was sort of the thing in the 70s and approaching now into 2013-2014 almost, there are more people who conscious channeling - I'm sorry, who channel consciously - and I'm glad that I'm not (in trance) because I would never want to do it.

We’ve come a long way baby! People are so much more open to psychic mediums and channels than they were when this video was recorded in 2013. I guess we can thank some famous mediums such as The Long Island Medium for bringing psychic ability to the forefront. Our world in 2025 is much more open to integrating alternative thoughts and ideas, including spirituality, into normal society.
