The Journey of an Accidental Channel: Embracing the Unexpected

It took Maureen many years to fully embrace her path as a channel. This journey was met with significant resistance, not only from within herself but also from close friends and family who struggled to understand her newfound beliefs and abilities. To move forward with both her own healing and her work in healing others, Maureen made the difficult decision to end many close relationships, including her marriage. Her husband, uninterested and perplexed by her abilities, even suggested she "sell Tupperware" as an alternative to continuing on her spiritual path. Her father, in disbelief, once asked, "Who do you think you are, God?" And her mother repeatedly expressed, "I wish SAM would just go away," and that she "liked me better before SAM."

Though several years have passed since her divorce, and Maureen has definitely explored online dating and some long-term relationships, she chooses to be single. She is committed to finding a partner who matches her dedication to self-reflection and inner healing. Maureen knows that channeling is her Soul's Purpose and is willing to be alone rather than surrounded by connections that don't align with who she is and what she does. It has taken her several years to fully own her identity as a spiritual conduit and find contentment in her life's choices. Her two loyal kitty cats provide her with abundant love and appreciation.

A Profound Pause: Healing and Rediscovery

Life shifted dramatically for Maureen during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2023). Amidst the widespread loss, Maureen experienced her own profound changes. After much reflection, she made a long-dreamed-of move to British Columbia, settling in Kamloops in March 2022. This period was marked by significant personal upheaval and the loss of more important core relationships.

Upon her arrival, SAM suggested she take time off for personal healing, funded by the sale of her home in Winnipeg. "When will you have another opportunity to deeply address your own wounds if you're always working?" they asked. "You can finally take time off to fully focus on your own healing." Maureen agreed, expecting a few months' break, which ultimately stretched to three years of minimal work—occasional one-on-one sessions with SAM's agreement, and continued channeling for a group requiring karmic healing. Eventually, even the group disbanded, leading to a ten-month period with no channeling whatsoever.

During these three years, Maureen engaged in deep healing with SAM's guidance, alongside traditional counseling for her inner child. She underwent EMDR therapy, art therapy, multiple forms of somatic healing, and devoured countless books. The catalyst for this intense healing was the sudden emergence of flashbacks related to sexual abuse, thoroughly blocked from her memory from infancy until age twelve. She had so effectively suppressed these experiences that when strong memories began to surface, she initially questioned SAM's validation of their reality, unable to reconcile them with the childhood she'd always believed she had. Seeking traditional therapy for the sexual abuse confirmed her memories were valid and that, at ages 50-53, she was "textbook" in finally feeling safe enough to process and heal past trauma thoroughly.

This personal journey into uncovering her root traumas propelled Maureen into an extensive study of trauma and its healing, including complex childhood trauma, narcissistic abuse recovery, PTSD, c-PTSD, and sexual trauma. What astonished her most was the extent of her own dissociation from true memories. It has taken three years of intense self-work to acknowledge, accept, and profoundly heal the roots of what impacted her inner child's perspective on love and relationships. Maureen is deeply grateful for this dedicated time of self-focus, free from guilt about not being available to others. This healing has been a crucial step in integrating her Ego/Inner Child with her Soul and Essence, bringing her to the powerful space she occupies today.

The Main Act: A New Era of Joy-Based Service

Maureen understands that self-work is an ongoing journey. She remains open to continuous self-healing but knows she has processed enough deep-rooted issues to work again while integrating ongoing insights. By working through her own childhood trauma, she now approaches her practice as a naturally more compassionate, trauma-informed practitioner.

As she eases back into working with clients and groups, she understands why her time channeling SAM ended and why it was vital to transition to new relationships with new guides once SAM's purpose was fulfilled. Many of the clients Maureen and SAM worked with were tied to karmic contracts. While some were positive and healing, others were negative, requiring both Maureen and the client to heal shared issues. Several difficult situations arose in group and private sessions due to complex karmic webs and lifetimes that had replayed multiple times. SAM's role was to ensure that Maureen, as the practitioner, "got the lesson," and that both she and the client healed their karmic past. This was not an easy task, and it took 18 years to complete this karmic cycle.

Now, every service Maureen offers is not karmically based, but joy-based. She provides these services because she is skilled and enjoys them. She is profoundly grateful that the karmic, 18-year chapter of her channeling is complete, and she has been enjoying the new guides and the healing they are offering her clients. These are now karma-free, harmonious relationships.

At age 53, Maureen feels her career is just beginning. The last 18 years were a rehearsal. Now, is the main act. She warmly welcomes you to enjoy the fruits of her deep inner labor.
